Math 379 – Asymptotic Methods in Mathematics

This course will cover many exciting aspects of asymptotic methods, including but not limited to multiple scales, matched asymptotic expansions, stationary phase, WKB methods. This subject lies at the beautiful intersection between pure and applied mathematics, and indeed we will often switch between non-rigorous and rigorous techniques. This course is a must-have for anyone who likes to study Partial Differential Equations. Bon appetit!
