Send Me Your Scripts!!!

Hi all.  Below is a list of the index cards for which I do not currently have scripts.  If you do have a script for any of these things, please send them to me ASAP (in CeltX, please) so I can complete our working script as quickly as possible and distribute it to the relevant parties.  I know that some of these are (or have been, thus far) purely physical moments, but it would be immensely helpful to me if you could send me the description of what each of these means in terms of action and/or dialogue, especially since I was not in class for all of these performances.  If we don’t know, we don’t know, but for the ones we do have a sense of, as much information as you all have would be great!

Stephen Simalchik has joined the company as an actor; we added him into rehearsal for the first time today, and everyone was happy to have him there.  Everyone performed an epic version of the story of the past six weeks.  Then the Davids revealed a beautiful circus poster, crafted by David Morris, to the class, after which everyone went off to write scenes for their characters.

1. ADD: Six umbrellas that open at the push of a button on the handle.  They cannot be black.  The button need not also cause the umbrellas to close.

The ensemble continued last night’s conversation about the possible relationships between the troupe and the map makers.  After a quick break the ensemble members delved into creating troupe characters, and then making maps of the Directing Studio as those characters.  We ended by reflecting on the evening’s work in preparation for tomorrow’s in-class rehearsal.  Here is the script as of today: 10-26 Script.

The ensemble spent the first half of rehearsal working on individual pieces before reconvening to weave the individual pieces together.  I will publish the script containing today’s work to the website as soon as everyone’s text is sent to me and I have time to compile it.  We will pick up tomorrow fleshing out the Map Maker story.

The group rehearsed during class time.  After discussing the TED talk that Carl had uploaded to the site, as well as Melissa’s “bullet points”, everyone worked for 20 minutes to create a piece responding to and drawing on those posts as well as others on the site.  Then everyone performed their pieces for the group and discussed them.
