We’re kicking off this Thursday (2/20) by discussing how we should speak about the passing of people who’ve been controversial in life — specifically by thinking about Kobe Bryant’s recent passing and subsequent legacy. How do we tell someone’s story in full, and is it appropriate to tell the bad parts after they’ve passed? How can one person mean so many different things to different people? How do we acknowledge those who grew up with Kobe as a model of sportsmanship while also acknowledging the sexual assault suit? Can we acknowledge both, or does it have to be one or the other?
Thank you for sharing the article. I am very interested in the information you have shared
