Qualifications: Undergraduate statistics and basic econometrics. A reliable internet connection and Google Chrome. The course will use EView as its simulation software, for which temporary licenses will be granted during the course.

Focus:

To bolster the macroeconomic modeling and forecasting skills of participants and bring them up to speed on modern econometric techniques. The course consists of lectures on theory and demonstrations of how to use EViews, and focuses in particular on the properties of data and models, dynamic specifications, evaluating models, and uncertainty in forecasts and policy analysis.

Target Audience:

All government officials in IMF member countries are welcome. The course is designed in particular for employees in government who work in developing forecasts used in the design and implementation of macroeconomic policy.

All online IMF courses are free of charge and open to government officials in participating IMF member countries.
