Week 5 @Middlebury School of Korean

This was the week when I started to truly notice how much my Korean has improved.

In class, I have become adjusted to my Korean teachers’ speaking/teaching styles, and during lunch I feel that conversations with my peers are flowing much better.  I am glad to be able to understand and express a lot more than before.

Since we are also approximately midway through the program, I am hopeful that in a couple more weeks my progress and abilities in the language will be even more evident.

Another fun and exciting part of this week was the 한국어 학교의 노레방. The term 노레방 literally means “song room” in Korean.  It generally refers to singing Karaoke with friends and family in either a pre-established room for that purpose or anywhere that fits, from my understanding. At our school, we had a 노레방 in our dorm’s living room and at the Grill. As someone who loves music and singing,  I participated in both, and I found it to be very entertaining and enjoyable!
