About Us

Welcome to the Williams Chapter of Active Minds!

Active Minds is the only organization working to use the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses. Our goal is to increase students’ awareness of mental health issues, provide information and resources regarding mental health and mental illness, and encourage students to seek help as soon as it is needed.

Mental health is a topic that is not often discussed on college campuses. Here at Williams, our goal as an Active Minds chapter is to open up that discussion and reduce the stigma that often prevents students from getting the help they need.

This year, we will host several national programs, including: National Day Without Stigma, National Stress-Out Day, and National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

At Williams, we are a small (but dedicated!) group of students working to promote positive mental health on campus. We welcome feedback and suggestions, so keep commenting on this blog! Mental health affects everyone – we invite everyone to join the conversation about mental health on the Williams campus!

How to use this site

Our goal is to compile a list of mental health resources in one central location — online — so that they are easily accessible to the entire Williams community. You can access our “Pages” section in the sidebar to explore mental health topics, seek help on- or off-campus, or contact other mental health organizations.

In addition, we invite you to check our “Campaigns” page to see what events, meetings and lunch discussions we have planned for the semester.

Join us at a meeting!

Meetings are open to all (including faculty and staff!), and we are always looking for new members!
