Welcome

Welcome to the weblog of Special Collections at Williams College, comprising the Williams College Archives and the Chapin Library. The Chapin Library is an internationally renowned collection of rare books, manuscripts, prints, and other materials of note from the 9th century to the present. Williams College Archives preserves records of the history of Williams and administers certain special collections as well as rare books from the general Williams Libraries. Together, they support education at Williams College, and research in the wider world of scholarship, through primary sources.

The Special Collections Reading Room is Room 441, on Level 4, in Sawyer Library on the Williams College campus. Adjacent are exhibition galleries and a dedicated instruction room. Our opening hours can be found at this link.

Posts to Vintage Points provide news about acquisitions, exhibitions, resources, and services, as well as occasional comment by staff on issues pertaining to archives and special collections.
