Minutes:

Appreciation Day
Danielle confirmed that this year’s evening event will be held at the Mill on The Floss, as anticipated.  New options to accommodate the growing number of guests continue to be evaluated.

Benefits Committee Update
Gisela and justin gave a brief update on the Benefits Committee.  There could be potential changes in the retirement plan, and there will be definite changes in our Healthcare plan relating to Wellness initiatives.  There was discussion on some of the pros and cons of the proposed wellness rollout.  More information and discussion on this initiative will be coming as it progresses through college approval channels.

Other Items
SAC Members
Danielle shared the self-nominations received to replace Shelia’s vacancy on the Council. All candidates were well received, a recommendation was made.  Martha will send correspondence to the selected individual.  The terms of present members were reviewed; there will be 8 members cycling off in June.  All were encouraged to put feelers out for upcoming vacancies for those interested in filling these vacancies.

Performance Development Process
Danielle asked for feedback on how the process was moving along.  Some have not started the process, yet others have sensed colleagues feeling overwhelmed by the wording or by the actual process.  It was suggested that a reminder be sent out either to managers via email or as a daily message.

Williams Reads
justin, who also serves on the Committee on Community and Diversity, gave an overview of the Williams Reads initiative. justin asked for feedback on this year’s book, Fun House. He also announced next year’s title and encouraged staff to participate in the read.

Recruitment for internal applicants
Sue Galli inquired about the current process when an employee applies for another position on campus.  Danielle reviewed the application process: applicant sends in application materials, their name is flagged as an employee, does not guarantee they will be interviewed. If they are not a candidate for the position, either the hiring manager or HR representative will contact the individual.

Please submit any agenda items to Martha prior to the next scheduled meeting
