Minutes:
Appreciation Day
Colleen and Martha gave an overview of this year’s events, rsvps to date, budget etc. Four members are needed to attend to greet honorees. Bilal, Dawn, Donna, Michele Migdal, Sue and Terry volunteered.

Martha asked whether the events are valued by the staff and considered meaningful. The majority of the group felt that the events are valued; many enjoy the social element of the lunch and dinner. She proposed to the group to think creatively about ways Appreciation Day might be reimagined to make staff feel especially appreciated at this one time of year. Some suggestions were:

Incorporate Mt. Hope into the event
Campus wide luncheon
All campus evening event
Designated parking
An extra day off
Invitation to leave work after the luncheon
Lunch with President Falk where guests were selected from the entire staff by lottery.
Make Appreciation Day a week long series of events

Other occasions for expressing appreciation:
• Claiming Williams
• Desire for senior management to have more personal interactions by walking   around campus;
• Recognize staff contribution to broader mission and distinction of Williams
• Include personal note from the department to each honoree
• Video of staff at work
• Recognize that it is appreciation day on college home page

Next scheduled meeting: May 8 @ 10:00 a.m., Faculty House Lounge

Please submit any agenda items to Martha prior to the next scheduled meeting
