Potsherd: 1 of 4 sherds of same vessel; tripod plate; complex design on interior base on light orange background; on interior wall, on opposite sides, a bearded zoomorph painted in black outline, strong orange fill and red details; on interior base, a column of eroded glyphs drawn in black outline; other sherds come from MSJ2A-5-7-2, MSJ2A-5-6-17/Cat.#10453; reminiscent of MSJ077/MSJ2A-5-6-17 although this latter tripod plate has resist decoration, which is rare at Motul. The palace may have been the residence of the royal scribe who painted the Ik Style Polychromes. The midden in units 3,5,40,41,42 included tools and wasters from the pottery production process, as well as hundreds of potsherds and other remains from domestic activity, as well as textile, figurine, and jewelry manufacture.
