As 2015 is drawing to a close, it is time for the Williams Environmental Council’s leadership to change hands. Co-presidents Peter Lugthart ’18 and Marit Björnlund ’18 are stepping down after a successful year at the helm. During their tenure, WEC revived “Do It In The Dark” Week, an energy saving competition between dorms. WEC also hosted many events for Earth Week and a successful “Bring Your Own Cup” party to encourage students to think about how many plastic cups are wasted each weekend at Williams. Björnlund and Lugthart have done a wonderful job leading WEC this year and we are very thankful for all of their hard work!

At our meeting on Tuesday, Charlie Harrison ’18 and Andrew Bloniarz ’18 were voted in as co-presidents for 2016. Ian Concannon ’18 will be moving into the role of secretary, and Michael Chen ’18 will remain as treasurer for the rest of the academic year. We are very excited to see what this new board will do in the coming year!
