What to Expect
What to Expect at a CALF Lab Study
Arrival
When you arrive, a student will be in the waiting in the lobby for you to direct you to our lab space. If a student is not there, feel free to sit and wait until one comes to bring you to our lab space.
Waiting Room
Before the study will begin, you will be asked to fill out all of the necessary paperwork. We have a plethora of toys that your child can play with to keep themselves entertained while you finish the paperwork.
The Study
We will then bring your child into the testing room, where one of our research assistants will run your child through our study. Most of our studies include games that are enjoyable for the child, but if for whatever reason your child does not want to continue, they can stop the study at any time. The study usually takes anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.
After the Study
After the study is over, we will describe in detail what the study was about and what we were trying to find (if we haven't done so in the beginning for research purposes). We will have a selection of different prizes (usually stickers or small tokens) that your child can take home after the study is over. That's it!
