14-1-18 Williams and China

We met several Williams Alums today whose careers, and lives, brought them to Hong Kong. Hearing all of them speak was reassuring to me, as each of them harped on “Serendipity” or the randomness of where their life took them. I feel that I get so caught up in this constant worry about what my life is going to become and hearing firsthand from so many alums that it’s much less worrisome than I think is refreshing. At lunch I talked extensively with one the alums currently working in China – Andrew Gatewood. We went back and forth about studying Chinese at Williams and he made some pretty convincing arguments. While I was toying with the idea in the past I am seriously considering it now. Eh, who knows?
