Friday The 19th

Today was the second to last day of our program. It was a bittersweet day, as while I was excited to finally be finished with the presentation, it meant saying goodbye to all the wonderful people we’ve met along the way. While it was satisfying to see the culmination of our work, I’m sad it’s all over. I started the morning by waking up early to rehearse Tiffany and I’s presentation.  Our presentation turned out to be around 11 minutes, and we were quite satisfied with it, so we headed out to do some final shopping. I bought a squishy dog pillow that I’m not 100% sure can fit into my suitcase, but we’ll see. I also got some books and stickers. Lastly I picked up a pair of stockings to wear with my dress, as it was going to be cold. I was worried about a pair of shoes, but then I remembered we wont be wearing shoes! Maybe thats one of the things I’ll miss about Japan, not needing coordinating shoes for every outfit, as you dont have your shoes on all the time. I then made it back to the hostel to prepare for the presentation. We did some final preparations and then it was show time! I was greatful for all the people who attended, I even recognized some of the Cafe Workers from downstairs! The presentations passed by quite quickly. I had a bit of anxiety, so I was secretly grateful that there would be a waiting period for translations. Each presentation lasted around 30 minutes, with 15 minutes being content and another 15 minutes of translation. Even though preparing for the presentations was stressful, looking back it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It was interesting to see the different directions the groups went, both in how they presented their materials but also how far theyve come since our first presentation in Williamstown. After the presentation I tried squid ink rice, which was surprisingly good. After the presentation we went to a karaoke bar. Franky was really into the music, as pictured below:

It was a fun time, even though the karaoke selection made me pretty sad because the lyrics to one of my favourite songs was wrong! I was pretty tired after the singing, so I went back to the hostel and went to bed early. I need to start packing soon!
