The 2024 WCFM Formal was held on Friday, December 7 at Agard and went off without a hitch. The theme of this year’s bash was WCFMiami Beach Club and the ballroom was decorated accordingly with NOT so phallic party balloons and attendees donned their finest Panama hats and linen blazers.
Doors opened at 10 and shortly thereafter Milquetoast took the stage around 10:30. Their outstanding performance, highlighted by a show-stopping rendition of “Lovesong” by The Cure, ignited the dancefloor and set the tone for the night ahead.
Patrons continued to flood in as the festivities raged on. Jello Shots and other fine beverages were available in the Agard kitchen free of charge, a testament to WCFM’s endless generosity.
The high only continued as Peaches the Giraffe hit the stage at 11. The standout track was definitely their cover of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls,” even if the titular state was just a little bit off.
Following those two fantastic live bands was no easy task, but DJ Queue Dubs stepped up to the challenge. A set consisting of tracks as fresh as the lime in your mojito on South Beach, DJ Queue Dubs kept the party alive and vivacious through the cold winter night.
WCFMiami Beach Club proved to be a lovely sendoff to a fantastic semester of programming from all of the DJ’s at WCFM. Thank you to all who attended and have a restful winter break.
