OIV Now Compatible with Mac OS 10.8
A new version of ARTstor’s Offline Image Viewer (OIV) for Mac OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8 is now available for download. This version includes all the features of the previous release.
- Log in to your ARTstor account
- Click Tools > Download offline presentation tool > and accept the Terms & Conditions of Use
- Select OIV 3.1.3 for Mac and click Download
ARTstor OIV Not Yet Compatible with Mac 10.8
Please be aware that ARTstor OIV presentation software is not yet compatible with the new Mac operating system OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. ARTstor is currently researching the changes required and will update the OIV system requirements page when a new version is available.
Dual monitor, wide-screen Mac and PC workstations are available in the VRC for faculty use, as one possible workaround.

Are Your ARTstor OIV Presentations Growing Unwieldy?
Just prior to presenting, select the option to save as a “Read-Only Slide Presentation” .shw or Show file. This removes the extra baggage of the image palette from your file. Just be sure to save your original .prs file as your master copy and place to make future edits.
Elegant PowerPoints?!
Abrupt transitions can be visually jarring during a lecture. A smoother transition respects the aesthetic import of your images. If you use black backgrounds, try applying the Fade Through Black transition at slow or medium speeds in the Animations menu.
