Is it still a true immersion when our phones and the essential applications that we use daily are in English? Well, we might not have been able to translate everything, but the level 4 students have undertaken multiple projects that brought us closer to full immersion.
One that particularly stood out to me was the creation of a Middlebury Map in Korean, where almost all of the buildings’ names and places around campus were translated.
Since most of the students have only been to Middlebury for few weeks. Many of us still struggled to find our way around Campus, and have had to use Google or Apple Maps as a fallback.
Such ressources have truly been helpful in facilitating the incorporation of the Korean Language into our daily lives, and a faster acquisition of the vocabulary that is much needed to communicate with each other throughout the program.
