Week 1 @ Middlebury Language Schools | Korean

My first week at Middlebury School of Korean went well! It was my first time attending a language immersion program, so I did not have much expectations coming in.

I also didn’t completely grasp the concept of a language pledge until the first couple orientation meetings. It was indeed hard transitioning to only speaking Korean 24/7 the following Monday, but I gradually felt more and more comfortable expressing myself in the new language as days passed by.

I joined the program as a level 2 student. It was interesting to see how everyone had different backgrounds and reasons for studying the language. Nonetheless, all of their stories were encouraging to hear, and we were all determined and excited to embark on this 8 weeks journey together from day 1.
