KCJS – A Guide to Kyoto Travelling

Hello!

Since I’ve officially stayed 2 months in Kyoto, I thought I would share some places that are great for day trips or to just get out of the city.

Osaka: Everyone’s go-to location. It’s close, its fun, and its cheap. Look out for all you can eat sushi and great clothes shopping locations. For those into fashion, I was able to buy an Issey Miyake piece at their Namba location, which honestly is more of an art gallery than a store.

Nara: Go for deer! The shaved ice is famous as well so definitely a good snack if you’re going in the summer. Though, I would suggest going when its nicer out since all the activities are outdoors… Stunning temples and shrines that tower over the city.

Uji: check my other blog! Great destination for those who love matcha

Kobe: The most slept on weekend trip destination! Amazing food and culture, and THE best place to practice Japanese. I met tons of people just talking in izakayas and restaurants. Go to the Hyogo prefectural museum if you love art. Beautiful exhibits and stunning Tadao Ando building.

Biwako: Go to the terrace! Its a fun time.
