Creating a Participant Account in Sona

To participate in studies advertised on Sona, you must first request an account. This is true even if you have used Sona for a prior course, as participant accounts are deleted every semester.

To create an account, navigate to http://williams.sona-systems.com and click on Request Account as shown on the right side of the screen below.

You will then be asked to provide our first and last name, unix ID, and the course or courses for which you will be participating in Sona.

Click Request Account. Immediately upon submission of your request, you will receive an email to your Williams account with your login information.

Once you log into Sona with your account information, you will be asked to complete a short, 10-question prescreening questionnaire. This questionnaire asks a few general questions which may be used to determine your eligibility for particular studies. Please answer these questions in one setting as partial progress will not be saved. Once you are finished, click Record Responses, then Save Prescreen.
