Basic Road Loops from Campus
3 miles – Bulkley & Main rectangle to Hopkins Forest: past Williams Inn on W. Main, right onto NW Hill Rd., right onto Bulkley back to Rt. 7.
3.2 miles – USATF Map – Gale Road South Street past Clark Art, left on Green River Rd. (Rt 43)
3 miles – (Ide cutoff) (take a left off South Street/Gale Rd onto Ide Rd, to 43)
4.2 miles – USATF Map – Cozy Corner Cole Ave to end, left to Rt 7 (left on Syndicate for less traffic)
4.3 miles – Galvin Road E on 2 past shopping, L Galvin, cross a blocked bridge, L on Mass Ave, L on Cole
6+ miles – Galvin Road Long (continue Mass Ave to Rt 7, L)
5.2 miles – Blair S on 43 for 1 1/2 m, left up hills (on Blair Rd.), back to Rt 2, left to campus
6+ miles – Blair-Luce Right turn off Blair onto Longmeadow, then first left, first right, and a left onto Luce, back to Rt 2, left to campus
6.5 miles – Henderson Cole Ave, L on Mass Ave, R up Henderson, L Brook, L White Oaks, down to N.Hoosac, R to Rt 7, L to campus
7.0 miles – Scott Hill Rt 43, right on Scott Hill, right on Rt 7
9.8 miles – 43-7 Classic road loop around Steele’s Corner (S)
9.4 miles – Luce-Resevoir short E on 2 to Luce, R, up past reservoir, L down to 2, L then R on Roberts, L Mass Ave, L Cole
10.5 miles – NW Hill Up Bulkley, R over NW to Pownal, cross bridge (R) to 346, R into 7 south
11+ miles – Sloan Road 43 S to Steele’s, W on Sloan to Oblong R on Berlin to 2, L to campus
13.2 miles – Oblong Like Sloan but keep on 43 up 1mile S of Steele’s, R on Oblong (add Bee or Stone)
13.0 miles – Luce Long Take R fork up at end of reservoir, to T intersection, L & L down to N.Adams, L on 2 back (or Mass Ave)
7.8 miles – Greylock. Starting from reservoir of Luce loop take R fork & R at T, uphill to top!
13.3 miles – NW-Ladd. When reach 7 go L short to Ladd, R up to Brookman R and down paths to Mason Hill Rd, R to 7, L to town. Or connect paths to White Oaks and Mountain Meadow
Combo Road/Trail Loops from Campus
2.2 miles – River Path Across from E Cemetery (2 East) enter woods behind generator, follow till end, out to Cole, R then L Cole Field (extra take paths by river off Cole Field)
Short variable – Cole Trails along Hoosac River at Cole Field, loop around several ways
6.5 miles – Figure 8 North through Cole field, right onto Cole Ave, left before liquor store, onto river path, left onto rt. 2, through cemetery, left on rt. 43, right on Latham, past track, left on Denison Park, left on Knolls, right onto South Street, right onto Rt. 2, back to river path, right on Cole Ave, then back through Cole field to campus.
6.0 miles – Chestnut Trail. N. on Cole, right onto Mass Ave, left onto Pine Cobble, right onto Pine Cobble trail, left onto Class of ’98 trail, second left onto Chestnut trail, down to Chestnut Rd, R on Mass Ave to 7, L to campus.
4 – 8 miles – Linear Park. E on Rt. 2, take a left after the graveyard onto Linear Park Dr. Follow to end into corn fields and trail system.
5.0 miles – Hopkins Forest short Bulkley/Main with short loop in HoFo (Ho-Fo Special shortly after pass Hopkins Forest entrance on NW Hill Rd, take trail to R out and back)
7.5 miles – Hopkins Forest long. Up cinder path in forest to intersection, do loop
8+ miles – Shadowbrook. Hopkins loop to 2nd intersection, R on path to NW Hill Rd, L around & down big hill, R to Shadowbrook, through a farm, up meadow path through woods to NW Hill and return to campus
10.0 miles – Shadowbrook/HoFo Over NW, down Shadowbrook, L up NW then R into back of Hopkins Forest via cut-off trail , R on back loop and out
6.4 miles – Bee Hill S on 7, up Bee Hill to 2, L, L on 7
9.0 miles – Sheep Hill. Up RRR trail, left at fork to Fitch trail, right after stone wall onto Running Pine trail, right onto Bee Hill, left onto lookout, R into field on Rosenberg ramble, loop around past buildings at bottom of hill, back up to bottom of Bee Hill, R to campus
8.9 miles – Woodcock-Bee. at top of Bee cross 2, down trail, L on Berlin Rd, R on Woodcock, L to cross 7, up Scott, return via L on Stone Hill or 43
7 miles – RRR Brooks W. Main, straight onto Petersburgh Rd. Left at parking area near top onto meadow path, then up river bed, a right when the river is too blocked to go farther (~3 false rights earlier) up to meadow, left in meadow, into woods onto RRR trail, L onto Bee Hill to campus at bottom. Add On: Take a right while descending RRR up Fitch trail, and either follow Fitch all the way, or take Running Pine to Bee Hill trailhead.
7 miles – Stone Hill from left back side of Clark Art on trails (or direct up hill pasture behind) R on woodchip path up (several ways) to stone bench, take ridge rd S to Scott Hill, L to 43, L campus (or R to 7, R to campus)
3-4 miles – Stone Bench Up pasture to bench, down winding path (behind bench, 1st R)
9 miles – Stone/Mt. Hope Over Stone, R on 43,L on side entrance up into Hope, down to river path (or add Mt Hope loop)
8 miles – Mt. Hope. Out 43, loop up around mansion, back
10/11 miles – Deer Ridge up into Mt. Hop, behind mansion left drive into woods road up hill. R at T to lookout, retrace down to T go straight on ridge, down hill to T trail, take L and down Hopper to 43
11 miles – Deer Ridge from side pass Mt. Hope on river trail or 43 or R off Scott Hill from Stone, then first left up dirt road into Mt. Hope, then over ridge
9.8 miles – Hopper. S on 43, up Hopper Rd, 2nd L (fork), onto woods rd down to meadow, left on trail to back of Bressett Rd, R on Hopper Rd to retrace return
11.5 miles – Mt. Hope/7 As Hopper but take R fork, to end, onto woods road, go out to 7, R to 5 corners, 5m to campus
8 miles – Mountain Meadow. Up White Oaks, left under Trustees of Reservations gate, bear right at intersections, follow signs for Williamstown parking. Hard right up hill after ~1mi in woods, then left at top down a ridge for long downhill out to meadow, Follow meadow down to Rt. 7, then L to campus
10.5 miles – Broad Brook. Up Henderson, pass Brook, onto woods road when Henderson ends, becomes trail, L on Broad Brook trail, cross brook four times, L on White Oaks
13.0 miles – Birch Brook. Hopkins forest, take the right fork, then branch off the trail to the right (beyond NW cutoff), up to Taconic Crest. L to Shepherd’s well, L down to RRR Brooks trail.
8-10 miles – Peace Valley. Up Petersburgh Road to RRR Meadow, across Rt. 2, L, then R around guardrail past parking area onto Sara Tenney trail. Down trail, then L on ATV trail to Peace Valley Farm. L on Torrey Woods rd, L onto old Bee Hill rd, or R on Woodcock to campus. (alternate) As above, but R on ATV trail, then L at first trail (an old logging road). Follow all the way to Mt. Berlin Rd. Or take R on ATV trail, and follow up to Taconic crest.
11 miles – WRLF (Rural Lands) Loop Trail. Over Bee Hill, R on Berlin Mt. Rd., to ski area at top. Left towards old ski slope, L at bottom of slope onto trail. R at T-intersection, then next L back to parking area on Mt. Berlin rd. (loop trail itself just 2 miles)
Variable Airport Run E on Rt. 2, take first right after “Welcome to N. Adams” sign, run to end of dead end, then over grass to get to ATV trails behind the runway. Can explore these trails, and hook up with Luce road next to Greylock Reservoir, back to campus. (there is also an entrance off Luce road across the street from the reservoir).
Van Runs:
10.5 miles – Ingraham Road. New Ashford start, south parallel to Rt 7, left on Scott, next left up dirt road, into woods, down steeply to Rt 7, left to van 9.0 miles cutoff from top L down woods, R on Ingraham back to parking
11 miles – Pownal P.O. Up Ladd Road, left on Witch Hollow, Barber Pond to 7, R then L(immediate), follow till L on 346, back to Post Office
9 miles – Cedar Hill Road North Pownal. off 346 N. to Lime Kiln road, R onto Carpenter Hill road, L onto W Carpenter Road, L onto Mt. Anthony Rd back to Lime Kiln Rd. Take R, then L onto Quarry Hill Rd, then R onto Cedar Hill rd to van.
9 miles – Indian Massacre. Out and back on rolling Indian Massacre Rd. in N. Pownal off 346.
5.5 miles – Mid-Pownal. Loop to N. of Barber Pond
8 miles – Strohmaiers From Barber Pond out to L on Washing Board Rd, R then straight on Mid- Pownal road through farms, R on Niles Rd, R on Barber Pond Rd back to Pond.
Variable – loops on Military, County, Mason Hill, Ladd – all dirt roads south of Barber Pond
Pownal View Many loops from Barn at Rt 7: R Witch Hollow, L on Ladd, out till left bend and back, or add loop thru woods to County Road

Taconic Crest
Berlin Rd W to old ski area, up stage rd to L Crest Trail, over Mt Berlin to L on Mills Hollow or Phelps to Oblong (7+)
Up Birch Brook trail (back loop HoFo), L on Crest, L Shepherd’s Well into 3R and down, or R on Crest for 3/4, R down) to NW Hill Rd at Vt line
From N. Pownal(346) up to Crest, south then down Birch Brook to HoFo
From Petersburg Pass south to Berlin & back, or north to Snow Hole & back
From meadow at top of RRR, down Sara Tenney trail (go to parking area across Rt. 2, then down hill till the guard rail on the right ends, trailhead there) Then R on ATV trail at bottom. Follow to Taconic crest. Many trails up. Either take R and go down Shepherd’s Well trail or L over Berlin to Phelps or Mills Hollow.
Pine Cobble From end of Cole Ave R on Mass Ave, L on Pine Cobble to parking on L, trail across street. Up (rt at top to Cobble) & back, Or L at top on Long Trail, R down App. Trail to 2.Or stay on Long Trail N. to Vermont, can go N till L Broad Brook, down to White Oaks
The Hopper
From end of Hopper Rd go out Potter Rd behind Deer Ridge to 7, L to Roaring Brook, L, ascend either Stony Ledge Tr to campground, down rd till left on Hopper Trail down to parking. Or ascend Roaring Brook Trail, L to Hopper Trail on R & down.
Ascend Hopper to summit of Mt. Greylock, take App Tr N to cutoff to Money Brook & down Prospect.
From parking go out Money Brook Trail then L up Prospect, along ridge to lookout, R down App Tr then R on Money Brook Falls, then down to parking
Schnellstagen
From Luce Rd up Prospect on App Tr, L down across road, up Mt. Williams, on ridge over Mt. Fitch, to summit of Mt. Greylock (5.2 m, record 50!)
The Dome
Trail off White Oaks road N of Vt line. Up to summit on less used trail, can connect on way down to Agawam to Broad Brook to return to White Oaks
