Konchok Dolma
Member and Founder, Women’s Alliance, Karsha Village
Konchok helped found the Karsha branch of the Zangskar’s Women’s Alliance groups (WAG), in 2000 and has worked with Gutschow and Lhamo on helping the Gaden Relief Zangskar project and ZNA projects since 1991. Konchok was trained in Tibetan medicine and local botanical knowledge by her father, the Karsha Lonpo (Minister, whose family served the former Kings of Zangskar). Her primary role in Climate Z will be to help facilitate and organize our focus group discussions with women across Zangskar and ensure diverse representation from all of Zangskar’s 100 hamlets. She will also help co-create our ethnographic training and science camps curricula that involve local biodiversity and botanical inventories.
