An afternoon field trip to the Chunking Mansions followed a discussion of Wong Kar-Wai’s classic Chunking Express in the morning. I was struck by how the local Hong Kong students all characterize Chungking Mansions as an “unsafe” space and their comfort level of being there was a little lower than their Williams counterparts.
In the morning we talked briefly about Bruce Lee; in the afternoon, we were by his side.
