We made it!

Well, I suppose it’s tomorrow somewhere. I had an extra second while waiting for a meeting tonight, so I figured I’d finish reflecting back on the rest of the day. At the airport in Tokyo the gate that we were at to depart to Osaka actually had a bus instead of a plane! The bus drove us out onto a different part of the tarmac where a plane was waiting with a really fancy covered movable staircase. I felt a bit like a state figure walking up it! ANA airlines was really nice as well — I actually don’t remember much of that last flight because I fell asleep pretty much as soon as we had achieved liftoff, but it was a wonderful environment to sleep in, at the very least!

We arrived in Kyoto sooner than I really thought that we would. We rode through Kyoto in the really nice van that picked us up from the airport in Osaka and were able to glimpse some of the sights that we’ll see in more detail later.

By the time we arrived at the hostel we were really tired, but we were also really hungry! We went out to eat for dinner and Leah led us to a really great conveyor belt sushi place! I had never really had sushi before so this was really exciting. It was also really tasty! (I ended up liking the salmon and the octopus the best!)

After that we came back home and met our contact in Kyoto — Sachi-san. She was wonderful, but we were all so sleepy!

Now it’s time to finally go to sleep. See you tomorrow!

(edit: I apparently fell asleep before I hit publish, so this is posted a day late)
