Pop culture to represent this story (the tumblr).<\/p>\n<p>Bailey\u2019s Show Don\u2019t Tell Hiccoughs\u2014such a crazy experience to represent the v simple thing that is hiccoughs<\/p>\n<p>Kimmy\u2019s Sisterhood\u2014maybe I\u2019m just really attached to the SOFTP series, but I loved the way that, for me, the people in the class representing these characters actually just become the characters\u2014these tropes are also us<\/p>\n<p>THEMES:<\/p>\n<p>The audience as the performance\u2014Sarah\u2019s Show Don\u2019t Tell Federalist Papers, my Juxtapositions, Omar\u2019s Show Don\u2019t Tell how to read music<\/p>\n<p>Tension between the literal retelling of a story, and abstracting the story into a concept or experience. Examples of the former: Bailey\u2019s scene from Secret History, Maddie\u2019s Katniss, Gabrielle\u2019s story of the Three Dates, Phoebe\u2019s Harry Potter scene<\/p>\n<p>Examples of the latter\u2014Bailey\u2019s hiccoughs, Gabrielle\u2019s Juxtapositions, my Show Don\u2019t Tell<\/p>\n<p>Bad stick-figure drawings\u2014Sophia\u2019s simple black and white pictures, Maddie\u2019s Ghosts, Kimmy\u2019s FRabies, Phoebe\u2019s cartoons of India<\/p>\n<p>Downward spirals\u2014Paige\u2019s (50 objects), Gabrielle (50 objects), Sophia (50 objects\u2014River)<\/p>\n<p>Maps\u2014John\u2019s Juxtapositions, Sophia\u2019s (50 objects), Molly\u2019s ELI5<\/p>\n<p>MY OWN PIECES:<\/p>\n<p>Show Don\u2019t Tell\u2014it was really challenging for me to make a piece that could in any way represent the gravity and complexity of the Syrian conflict, and I still feel like there\u2019s a lot of ideas there that I want to explore.<\/p>\n<p>Juxtapositions\u2014what I made felt like the beginning of something that I want to expand on.
