For the past couple of days, I\u2019ve had a line from UPPERROOM\u2019s song \u201cSurrounded (Fight My Battles)<\/a>\u201d stuck in my head. <\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a table that You\u2019ve prepared for me
\n<\/span><\/i>In the presence of my enemies<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In my head, I pictured that table, a table overflowing with good food <\/span>\u2013<\/span> macaroni and cheese, broiled fish, \u5317\u4eac\u70e4\u9e2d (Peking duck), iced tea, cake. Then, using old copies of <\/span>The New Yorker<\/span><\/i>, I created it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
\n<\/span><\/i>I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
\n<\/span><\/i>your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
\n<\/span><\/i>You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
\n<\/span><\/i>you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
\n<\/span><\/i>Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
\n<\/span><\/i>and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
\n<\/span><\/i>Psalm 23:4-6<\/span><\/p>\n

Living during these COVID-19 times can feel like walking through a shadowy valley of darkness and death. Yet because I know that God is with me, I have no reason to fear. None of us do. Not only does He comfort us, but he also sets a table, invites us to sit down, and delights as we feast.<\/span><\/p>\n
