This blog is for a class that I am taking titled, Blackness 2.0 in which we are learning about Blackness in film, specifically sci-fi films where black people are not always present, but blackness typically is.<\/p>\n<p>The header of this page is of Gamora, an alien in Guardians of the Galaxy that is played by actress, Zoe Saldana.\u00a0 Her character is an example of blackness being depicted as &#8220;other&#8221; or &#8220;unusual.&#8221;\u00a0 She acts alongside talking animals, plants, and other human-like aliens with distinctly African features, thus despite there being no Black characters in the movie, there are representations of characters who\u00a0apparently signify\/display blackness.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you enjoy my blog!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, my name is Terricka Parker and I am currently a senior at Williams College.
