I’ve been here for a week now, and though I’ve visited (and even lived) here before, it feels so much more different now that I can speak a little bit of Japanese! Though, I will say, since almost everyone is fluent or somewhat fluent in English here and very accommodating to foreigners, I do have to try really hard to make it known I can speak Japanese, and well. There are definitely times though, where I messed something up and they straight up switched to English. Its frustrating at times but great practice for when I get it right. Plus — Tokyo people speak so fast! It’s completely different from talking to anyone from the Kansai area and it was quite a shock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
