This Friday we had another afternoon activity, this time a NTU student brought us to mess around at Taipei 101. When I say this was one of the most fun afternoons I’ve had in a while, I mean it started and ended with delicious food, sandwiching 508 meter high views from the top of Taipei 一零一 and lots of shopping and exploring. I met new friends, got caught in a crazy thunderstorm, found a new shirt from my new favorite brand here in Taipei, and even explored the huge pokemon and nintendo land stores next to 101. We finished off the night at Tonghua 夜市, which may be my new favorite night market because I had 大肠包小肠跟泡菜, and it was unforgettably delicious, I’ll have to go back for more.

Saturday was equally as crazy, as after very little sleep I had to be on a bus at 8 to head out to Yingge to go do pottery. It was such a fun experience to learn about the long history of pottery in this area as well as have the opportunity to make our own 碗或者杯子 to take home with us (but we won’t have it for like a month, it has to be fired and glazed first). After that we went and wandered the old streets to find some lunch snacks while looking at the beautiful pottery, before heading to the Lin Family Mansion. Here we did like a photo tour, which was 一点奇怪 because the lady would be like 一边 talking about history 一边 ushering us into strange configurations to take photos. Overall fun, but a little rushed I would say. Then we all headed back to campus exhausted (keep in and all of this is happening 100% in Chinese, so even when I’m not trying to study I end up studying. Needless to say my brain ended the day very tired but very fulfilled). After that, I went out to a really cool bar with some friends, and that finished off a fantastic Saturday. 今天我会好好休息、开始学习 and prepare for another busy week. 一会儿见！

大家好！虽然我两天以前已经写博客，但是这个周末真的非常好玩儿所以我还是会写另外一个博客。It started on Friday after our exam, when we had a pronunciation contest and I won second place, which was a great start to what would become a fantastic weekend of 冒险 (adventure, not risk, to be clear).
