{"id":2331,"date":"2024-07-27T10:23:46","date_gmt":"2024-07-27T14:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.williams.edu\/study-abroad-in-asia\/?p=2331"},"modified":"2024-08-28T08:17:44","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T12:17:44","slug":"hta-week-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.williams.edu\/study-abroad-in-asia\/summer-2024\/hta-week-6\/","title":{"rendered":"HTA Week 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought there wouldn\u2019t be much to talk about this week, but there\u2019s nothing like the strongest typhoon to hit Taiwan in eight years to keep a lid on the ennui of life! All in all, it didn\u2019t seem too bad\u2014mostly strong winds and a little rain\u2014though I suspect other parts of Taiwan were more severely affected. Because of the typhoon, work and classes were cancelled: unfortunately, that meant we had class online, which was a little tough. To cap off the week, for our last Saturday excursion we went to Jiufen and Shifen. In Shifen, we released sky lanterns and admired Shifen Waterfall, aka \u201cTaiwan\u2019s Niagara Falls.\u201d Afterwards, in Jiufen, a mountain town, I walked down Jiufen Old Street and ate some traditional meat dumplings, with taro balls for dessert.<\/p>\n<p>The end is fast approaching!
