This past weekend I went to the jade market and flower market. The flower market smelled amazing, and I got to see many different types of flowers. They had different colors, sizes, shapes, etc. It was so cool! The jade market was also super interesting. A vendor explained how the jade was mined and produced in order to make jewelry. I learned so much about the significance of jade and also got to see how much work it takes to produce.

This past week of classes were difficult but good. In class, I learned about Taiwan’s food safety issues, medical problems and inequalities, real estate, and social injustices. Outside of class, I learned how to play Mahjong and went hiking in Bitan with my host family.

Overall, the second week here has been super fun! This week, I’ll learn how to play Chinese chess and start preparing for our social studies trip.

再见!

Alejandra 郝若寒

大家好！ It was a really busy weekend which is why I’m posting this today (Monday).
