I also went on a tour at Tokugawaen, led by local Japanese students from Nanzan University. Tokugawaen is a beautiful traditional garden that has waterfalls, a variety of flowers, and a lake filled with koi fish. By the lake, they sell little biscuits that you can feed the koi fish with, and I probably saw at least 40 to 50 koi trying to eat the food. The only downside to the tour was the mosquito bites I got despite using mosquito spray. For some reason, I’m very allergic to the mosquitos in Japan, even though I have no problem with the mosquitos in the US. This weekend, I went to Nakamura with my host family to go up the sky tower for a breathtaking view of the city, and went to the movies to see Suzume with my friends. I also tried a sweet plum wine that my host mother has been making for over half a year.

This week, I attended Japanese classes as usual.
