This week, I learned about traditional holidays in Taiwan, vocabulary for online shopping, and the Chinese idiom 黔驴技穷. I ended this week by giving three presentations, all coincidentally scheduled to happen on Friday. I wrote my presentations on three fun topics: attractions in my hometown, a learning experience from my past, and people with malicious intentions. I definitely met my speaking quota for that day!

After this week wrapped up, I took a trip to Taipei 101! There seemed to be many clothing and phone stores there, and although they didn’t all attract me, I was still thrilled to walk around the mall space and see all of the activity. I got a delicious lunch from the food court and left with some souvenirs to take home with me. Additionally, to get to Taipei 101, I took the metro, which was fast, fun, and convenient. I hadn’t expected the metro stations around Taipei to be so beautiful. The Red Line 5 station was especially nice: it featured an outside sitting area with modern architecture and small ponds that attracted birds. I’m definitely looking forward to my next trip on a metro.

This is my post for my fourth week of classes at ICLP.
