\u70cf\u77f3\u6e2f<\/p><\/div>\n

No surprises here, but the weather in Taiwan continues to be extremely hot! This weekend I took the chance to go with some friends to \u70cf\u77f3\u6e2f, another beautiful beach in the northern part of Taiwan that is a popular surfing destination. What was really cool about this beach is that the sand is black (but this also means the sun makes it unbearable to walk on barefoot, ouch!).<\/p>\n

After a long, relaxing day at the beach, my friends and I went out for a delicious, Taiwanese family-style dinner.<\/p>\n\n

I enjoyed trying all kinds of new foods in good company.<\/p>\n

This week I also decided to start learning how to read zhuyin, the system that is used to teach children how to read Chinese characters in Taiwan. I cannot say I have made quick progress in picking it up as I’m more accustomed to using pinyin, but I hope that with time it will come naturally!<\/p>\n
