I headed over to \u897f\u9580 (Ximen) where a lot of queer-friendly bars and other establishments can be found. Although Taipei&#8217;s pride festival isn&#8217;t celebrated until October, there are plenty of opportunities to engage with the LGBT+ community in Taipei through visiting queer-friendly caf\u00e9s, stores, restaurants, and etc. Overall, my first impressions of Taipei are that it is an extremely welcoming and queer-friendly city!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1396\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1396\" class=\"wp-image-1396 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.williams.edu\/study-abroad-in-asia\/files\/2022\/07\/IMG-4555-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"853\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1396\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rainbow Road in Ximen<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Just like most major cities in the U.S. have their own distinct drag cultures, Taipei also has its fair share of Drag Queens! I was very lucky to have the chance to attend my first ever drag performance in Taiwan.
