Taiwan Adventures – Week 4!! (ICLP)

Ahh! Sorry for the inconsistencies again! I’m going to talk about the week from 7/8 – 7/16. This week was actually pretty packed! We had our language missions today, so we didn’t have class on Friday and Monday. My group went to Dadaocheng, which is known for having a lot of history. We checked out the visitor center, which was awesome. There was a place where you could try on traditional Taiwanese clothing for free (however, we didn’t have enough time) and see many parlors that Taiwan youth would go to in the 1920’s. Next, we went to a tea place and talked to one of the owners about how the tea is made. This particular place used charcoal to keep the tea warm. I thought it was so interesting. Then, there was a demonstration to make tea, and we got to try some of the shop’s speciality tea. We had a little prize at the end and I won some prizes!!!! I even bought some tea for the (spoiler alert) up-and-coming Williams tea club.

Other than that, we’ve pretty much entered the “midterm” season, so work has been really piling up. I will write another entry about this past week soon!
