Right after finishing the final exam, a group of my friends and I headed to the railway station (高铁站) to head to Xi’an (西安). From Thursday evening to Monday morning, we explored all over 西安 and learned more about its cultural and historical significance. Some of the trip highlights included a cultural street with lots of small stores – including many hand-painted fan shops, the Xi’an city wall, the terracotta warriors (兵马俑), and Huimin Street (少数民族街). However, my favorite part of the trip was the delicious food: biang biang mian (the character for “biang” is so complex that it cannot be typed using most fonts in Chinese), 羊肉汤加粉, 茶话弄, 四川鱼, and the many 小吃 at various night markets (夜市). After a thrilling four and a half days, we headed back to Beijing via high-speed train.
