Every week, we have a Chinese table, a meal with one of our teachers and 2-3 other students. For my third Chinese table, I went to a Hunan restaurant to prove my ability to eat spicy foods. Over the past few weeks, I noticed a lot of campus cats, and I finally learned the name of my favorite one: 恶霸, a chunky gray-white cat who sleeps under bushes all day until someone comes to feed or pet him. The main highlight of this week was our program excursion to the National Centre for the Performing Arts (国家大剧院) to listen to an erhu and jazz piano concert. The concert was a fantastic combination of traditional Chinese instruments with more Western sound and music. It was a great end to a relaxing week before our final exams next week!
