After arriving at Taipei SongShan airport, I headed to my hotel, which I stayed in for almost a week before moving into my ICLP HomeSweetHome apartment. The first few days in Taiwan certainly took some getting used to, and not only because of the jet lag caused by the 12 hour time difference. Most restaurants don’t take card, moped’s are a popular form of transportation, and Taiwanese thunderstorms are serious, these are a few of the things I came to understand in my first week in Taiwan. Due to the abundance of mopeds and some aggressive drivers, being a pedestrian in Taipei requires you to keep your head on a swivel, but this certainly hasn’t prevented me from being able to experience and appreciate the city around me. I’m definitely excited for what’s to come, with ICLP classes and also my experiences in Taipei
