This is my post for my eighth week of classes at ICLP. This week, I took the final writing exams for all of my classes. Starting Monday, 300-level students like myself took their exams in their Chinese Idioms, Contemporary Chinese, and Modern Chinese Conversation classes. In addition to the writing exams, I wrote a 500-character essay in my individual class block. I feel like I studied well and recalled lots of content for each of my exams. At this point in the program, I have taken away lots of new vocabulary and grammar components, making me more confident in my ability to carry out in-depth conversations in Mandarin.
At the end of the week, I made a to-do list of things I still hadn’t done in Taipei. Since this was my last free weekend, I used it to finish up all of the shopping and traveling that I wanted to do: I took a trip to the Taipei Zoo, and afterward, did some souvenir shopping. In retrospect, I’ve done lots of sightseeing and shopping in Taipei, and even though I have to come back home in a week, I’m glad to take home lots of memorabilia (a great many photos).
