Fortunately, this week was only a three day week because we had our “ICLP Language Mission Days” on Thursday and Friday. The purpose of these “Mission Days” is to get ICLP students out the classroom and involved in a fun activity, that also helps us with our Chinese. For my activity, my friends and I did board games on Thursday afternoon, which was actually pretty fun. Although originally we had planned to take a trip to south Taiwan to take advantage of the long weekend, this plan was ultimately foiled by a typhoon that was projected to hit Taiwan. However, the typhoon’s impact on Taipei was relatively small, just some light rain and wind for a couple days. I am hopeful that later in the semester we will be able to get down to south Taiwan for a few days.
