這個星期五我們有期中演講，所以周五前幾天功課少一點。這個星期下課之後也有很多機會跟朋友聊天、一起去晚飯。我們平常是在谷歌地圖找地方的，周三我們如此選地方吃，沒想到我們選的地方那麽高級！幸虧台灣飯的價錢沒有美國那麽高，所以可以享受這麽好吃的也不必付跟美國一樣的價錢。至於周五的演講，我覺得我講的不錯，雖然我講過這種演講也練習了很多，我還是有點緊張。演講之後我參加了我同學開的紅樓夢讀書會。我覺得很有意思！這次一共有十幾個人，我們先一個一個讀幾句再翻譯成英文，然後大家都討論這幾句有什麽意思。其實，這個很難，紅樓夢雖然是白話，可是跟現在的白話不一樣，給我有點文言文的印象。周六我跟我朋友去看Oppenheimer那部電影，真的很長，但也有意思。
On Friday we had our midterm speech, so the few days before we didn’t have as much homework. As a result I had a lot more time to chat with friends and eat dinner together. We usually just look at Google Maps for where to eat, which is what we did on Wednesday, but we never expected that the place we chose was such a nice restaurant! Fortunately food prices in Taiwan are cheaper than in the US so it’s easier to enjoy good food. I think my midterm speech went pretty well, I was still a bit nervous even though I prepared well and have done speeches like this before. Afterward I participated in my classmates’ Dream of the Red Chamber reading group, which was very cool! It was actually really hard because the text is written with the regular/everyday talk of that time, which to me seems similar to classical chinese. On Saturday I watched Oppenhemier with friends.
