CET Week 11: Tea Class

This week was an exciting one! After class, my teacher treated my classmates and I to some traditional Taiwanese food. Afterwards, we all headed together to take a class on tea brewing and culture. When we arrived, we started by washing our hands and then writing our names in Chinese with a brush pen. Afterwards, we put on traditional garments and sipped on tea as we learned about the art of Pu’er tea. We then watched a demonstration on how to properly brew tea and serve your guests, abiding by the rules of tea etiquette. It was then our turn to give it a try!

While I was nervous trying to remember each step and rule along the way (all while keeping a graceful presence) overall, I had a positive and relaxing experience all the while. I also left with a greater appreciation for tea. Be it prepared using the methods that have been practiced for centuries or drinking it with a splash of milk and tapioca pearls, tea is the drink for everyone!

(Unfortunately there is no memory left for photos, but the MEMORIES of this event are priceless 🥲 )
