CET Taiwan Week 6: In-person Classes

At long last, I am finally able to attend classes in-person at the Chinese Language Division (CLD) at NTU! I am especially excited  because this will be the first time since my freshman fall (2019) that I am able to have Chinese classes in an actual classroom again. The Commute is an easy 16-minute ride on the MRT from Songjiang Nanjing station to Gongguan station on the Green line. The MRT system has been one of my favorite aspects of Taipei, as I come from a town that doesn’t really have widely accessible public transportation system.

From Gongguan station to the actual classroom is a bit of a walk, but I quickly found out that I can use my 悠遊卡 (EZ Card) to rent out a UBike (public bikes that you can use all over the city) and make the longer walk to class a quick (but scenic) bike ride! Another thing I’ve learned quickly is that it is essential to wear the right kind of clothing for the weather in Taiwan. This goes beyond just wearing any pair of shorts or t-shirt; quick-drying material and 100% cotton clothing will become your best friend!

A bowl of 炸醬麵 has become my favorite after class lunch!
