CET Taiwan Week 12: Maokong Gondola

This week I tried out a new form of transportation: the Maokong Gondola (貓空纜車)! This is a 4.03km gondola system that brings you to Maokong, an area of Taipei known for tea cultivation. Going immediately after classes, we were very lucky because the day we went, we did not have to wait but more than five minutes to ride. We stopped by a small local first however, to have our fill on 炸醬麵 (Zhajiang mian).

There are two different kinds of cars you can ride, but the one that we went on are known as “Eyes of Maokong Gondola” because they are built with a fortified glass bottom. It was an incredible view riding to the top, and once we were there, we cooled off with some sweet treats. I would definately love to go back again at night because there seem to be many lights that decorate the area.
