This week has been so exciting. This course is only me and two other students, so not only do I get many more chances to practice, but I feel I have already grown close to both my teachers and my classmates. I was very intimidated by the daily hour long one on one session , but those have been going well. I’m super excited to be learning about modern topics, this week we covered vocab related to plastic surgery and styles of government. After Williams, I plan to attend medical school and use my Chinese skills to broaden my patient base. Thus, I was very interested in the medical terms we learned this week. I also appreciated that we covered a bit of how the medical infrastructure of China is set up, which gives me insight into the way medicine is practiced throughout the world . After chatting with my professors, it seems that we will have a lot of freedom within the curriculum to explore topics we are passionate about , especially through open ended oral presentation prompts
