世杰 – ICLP Final Week + Overall Recap

大家好!

This is my final blog post for my summer at ICLP, and here goes! I’m slightly late on writing this, but my final week was a blur, but a lot of fun!

The final week went by really fast; for some reason, ICLP classes don’t seem to slow down, so the steady beat of work continued at its normal pace. Finishing up classes was nice though; I was particularly happy after giving my last yanjiang (speech) on Wednesday.

Outside of classes, the week was full of me trying to do things one last time and do some of the things I hadn’t yet done. On Wednesday, I went to Danshui (finally) with my language partner! Danshui was gorgeous and peaceful, and I’m really glad to have had the opportunity to go. On Thursday, I went with Alison to the airport (due to airline questions and concerns, I didn’t think I could check a bag on my flight, so Alison kindly took my bag with her back to San Francisco and delivered it to a family friend. Literally 英雄 material).

I also made numerous trips to Gongguan night market, which I’m missing dearly back in the US. Night markets have got to be one of my favorite things about Taiwan, and I’m very glad to have experienced them.

On Saturday, I left Taiwan and flew to Hawaii, which was literally the longest day of my life (18 hour time difference, meaning August 20 was 42 hours for me). I had a 9 hour layover in Seoul, and the Incheon airport was amazing, so that was cool. And that was the end of my trip! Overall, a fantastic summer of studying and living in Taipei. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the chance to go, and thankful for everyone that helped me out along the way.

See you all back at Williams sometime soon!
