It was the last week in Beijing and with HBA. We all couldn’t believe my fast time went by. I knew I’m going to miss the time here, the friends I made, and the teachers who helped me so much throughout these past nine weeks. I also knew it was my last week in Beijing, so I spent almost every afternoon checking out new places in Beijing. On Monday I came to Olympic Park with a friend. It was so much grander than I thought, especially in the evening. We went inside the water cube and discovered a big water park inside! Such a shame we didn’t bring our swimsuits. On Tuesday I met up with a friend from Williams. He was going to study abroad in Beijing Daxue this upcoming school year so we decided to spend the afternoon visiting the university. There was a big lake inside the school, and some of the architectures were very ancient Chinese style, so it was a very nice trip! On Wednesday I and 2 friends came to Wangfujing again. We visited a bookstore and I bought two books (which I decided to buy in order to maintain my Chinese level after HBA!). We came back early because we had to prepare for our koushi the following day. I decided to write about Chinese economy’s trend. It was such a broad topic to discuss about in a simple report, but I gained a lot of insight information from reading some of the newspaper and thought more carefully about how to discuss those ideas in Chinese. On Friday, we had our graduation ceremony, and finally, was allowed to speak English! It feels so strange speaking English to the teachers. I also went to a karaoke night with some of the students and decided to go back early to pack. HBA had been such a good experience for me. I was definitely proud of my Chinese improvement, and grateful for all the memories I had made at this place!
