Sixth week, we started the new book. This book’s content relates more to world problems instead of only problems usually confined to China, so we got to discuss world wide beauty standards, advertisement and marketing, as well as studying abroad trend currently. On Friday, we got to visit a producing car factory. I chose to go because I wanted to get a peek into current Chine’s consumers’ market and factories trend. It was indeed surprising to learn that such a big car factory was only produced for consumption within China, and how big the consumers’ market was in China nowadays. I also went out with some friends to a Chinese food restaurant on Friday, and got to try some specific Northern dishes, mostly noodles instead of rice. Next week was going to be the inter-program speech contest, so I got to think about a topic to discuss, and decided on talking about stereotypes between China and Vietnam. I think this topic related directly to a lot of my experience in China, and what I had hear these past 7 weeks overall from Chinese about Vietnam and Vietnamese people.
