大家好!这个星期真可能是我生活里最好玩儿的星期之一, I had fun with friends, went paragliding, explored new cultures, and overall just had an amazing freaking adventure. 第三天 we started off by visiting a local high school and playing badminton with some of the students, it was really fun to just chat and the students that I was talking with decided that it would be a great chance to practice their 英文 so I would talk in 中文 and they would talk in 英文 so the roles were reversed and the conversation was really slow, but we had a fantastic time. After that we went to this little stream where we went fishing, and in order to do so had to go wading in the stream. It then started pouring rain, and I mean POURING rain, so we all ran as fast as we could to this little kitchen house thing that was there and they had it all set up for us to make mochi, so we had fun doing that and taking turns pounding the rice, and then they made us soup using hot stones pulled out of a fire that they put in the soup to heat the water and we sat there drinking soup and watching it pour rain outside.
第四天 was possibly the craziest and best of them all. To start the day we went to pick 花生 and learn about 小米 (millet), and we got to 自己准备 the millet, which is a surprisingly long but also fun process. we then had a HUGE feast, and I mean like 4 heaping courses of 南瓜, corn, 猪肉, 鸡肉, sweet potatoes, 求子, the 小米 we prepared, everything. And then, they brought out the 小米酒 and the real chaos began. Once we had all had a little to drink they started performing, and one of the songs they did was like this hunters chant where you had to answer questions using 4 word questions and answers in Chinese, which may sound easy, but when your drunk, have to keep a beat, and think on the spot, its surprisingly easy to mess up. Anyway, a few of us took turns trying that, and others danced in the background, and it was just super fun and chaotic and great and really we just had a blast. After that we went to 鹿野高地, where we sledded down these huge grass fields, and I ended up going paragliding during our free time. We then watched them prepare hot air balloons before heading out for dinner.
第五天 was 半苦半甜, but we still had a lot of fun biking around rice fields before saying goodbye to 阿采, our amazing 导游 who helped me find all the gluten free food I needed on this trip and was super amazing. And then we were off on our 4.5 hour train ride back to 台北!It was truly an amazing trip and I made a lot of friends along the way. I wish I could reflect on it more, but given that my word count is fast approaching a lot of words, I fear reflection will have to wait. If you made it this far, hope you enjoyed! 一会儿见!
